The Internet is a network of millions of computers linked together around the world. They are set up in such a way that information can be sent from any computer to any other in the world, 24 hours a day. Any computer can have access to the internet even if they are in homes, schools, universities, government departments, or businesses small and large. Another term for the Internet is “a network of networks'. The reason for this is because of all the smaller networks of organisations that are linked together into the one giant network called the Internet. Once connected to the Internet, all computers can access the same information. The only difference between computers is the speed at which they can access the information. The speed will depend upon the Internet Access deal that the computer is set up on.
The Internet is a massive resource that will greatly benefit anyone who uses it, including the many businesses who are constantly exploiting it.
